Two weeks before the europeans in Bursa, I went 700km down south to check out this new wake spot!
5.-10 Oct 2008
The whole Hip Notics Project costed 6 Million Euro and includs three men-made lakes, two rixen cables and one winch!
At the airport I got picked up by Baris the Manager himself. At the same night, I privatly got to see all three lakes under flood lights. We had a few beers and then I moved into one of the bungalows infront of the lake.
At the next day the beautifull weather made me get up early. And I got rewarded with an early privat cable session including pick up. I love those sessions! The pull from the cable was very strong and good (what do you expect from an brand new 4 month old cable). The water was so clear I have never seen this before, all the time while I was riding, I could see the bottom of the lake. My Idea to the Management: "Put big colorfull and waterresident images from fishes and corrals on the bottom, and make us feel like we wakeboard over the great barrier reef.

The only minus that moment were the obstacles, the surface was so ruff, you got stock at the table and funbox. They had problems with the resin (Factory Problem) but they will sort it out soon and I trust them. Because if you already put so much money into an project, you wont be greedy on the obstacles, which make the wake park what it is.
The rampy kickers reminded me a bit on thailand, but I could land three different 720s over them, so there were fine for me.
The sunsets every day were so beautifull and I could punch myself because I I left my big flash plus remote at home.
The following days it was not crowded at all. I felt like at an ZEN meditiation camp. But no argument about that, I really enjoyed the privat riding sessions! But the question is for how long it will stay so quite? They just opend in July and until Sept. they didn`t had official papers, even to make advertising!

But now the keep up with marketing. At the end of this year, Rope Clothing together with Hip Notics are producing an Wakeboardmovie with international riders and standards. I am looking forward for the filming and will keep you posted! So if it starts to get busy in future, I am sure there still wont be much queuing infront of the docks. Because beginners and rockies just ride on the second lake and don`t block the others ...
Baris also showed me two big 5 Star Hotels 15 min away from the cable. In off season he can get discounts up to 50 %! So how cool would it be, to stay in an 5 star all inclusive hotels for just 40 €? But on the other hand, its also nice to stand up, walk 5 meters and jump into the clear cable lake for a swim!

Then we also went to the center of Antalya which is 40 min drive. The old town and the harbour are beautifull and the atmosphäre in the small streets and bazars are very enjoyable. And the nightclubs we will check out the next time!

Until now the Hip-Notics prices are not listed on their website! They are new in the business and not 100 % sure about the prices for the future. So they are very flexible and and their is space for bargain, thats the türkish way (bazar mentality).
During my stay Walk in customers got charge 35 € for a day ticket, 25 € for 2 hours, 40-50 € per day for accomodation and food. So If you wanna safe money, get in touch with them before you fligh down. Write an email to

They offer you good package discounts. Now they have this M2M (monday to monday) programm down on 400 €, which includes 5 nights accomodation and food plus 6 days riding! In my ears that sounds pretty fair. Then you can also take a look on the website www.sunexpress.com there you will find flights to turkey starting at 59 € form Europe round trip.
If you wanna cruis around, I saw car rentals available from 35-60 € and motorbike from 10-15 € per day.
Thank you Baris for beeing such a good host! Cu soon!
