I missed one place to make it to the top 8 finals. I slamed at my first trick from the dock, a bs 720, I knew this trick was not safe, but I wanted to show it,  I didnt want to make the same standard run like in the quali.

 

 

 

After the slam I took everything out what I got: inside Mobe to outside Frontmobe Kombination, 313, TS Raley 360, outside Mobe, Transfer 540 und 720. The crowed was pumped, specially after I landet the frontmobe wrapped. After I stomped the last trick, adrenalin and lucky hormones let me make a really laut shout out. JAAAAAA! It was  like I won the comp already, this moment nobody could take off me, the journey was worth the trouble.

But it was not enought for the Top 8 final,  Donald Shelbrick (USA) und Dominik Gührs (GER) went infront.

Other top riders like Nick Davies from UK ( Junior world and euoropean champ),  Bernhard Hinterberger GER (3 times world and 7 times european champ), Weltmeister, 7 facher Europameister), Rop Mapp USA, etc... also didnt make it to the finals.

 

Thumbs up for Domnik Gührs, the only one how could defend the honor from german cabel country, the inventor of cabel. 18 years young and througing tricks like double blinds, mobe 5s, ts9s, nickelodeans.... and it all looked so consistant in the training. He could have the tricks to take the titel home. But than he bailed at an standard move (blind judge) and lost the first round of the head to head K.O. System against Donald from USA. 

 

So the big showdown was between USA (Tom Foshee) and australien (Sam Collins). Tom got revanche for the last CWC Open where sam won.

After all there were over  230 Wakeboarder from more than 20 countries in 13 categories.

 

The WWA Wakepark World Championships will take place every year. And because it worked out so good this time, 90 % we can say it will be at the CWC next year again.

 

Unlucky the Winchpark didnt got finished like sheduled. The are plaining to make seven big pooles equiped with the new Sesitec 2.0 System  watch Video ! It looks like a portable minicable, where can ride forward and back endless. Its genias!

 

 

They want to put 25 Obstacles in the winchpark. Overall the cwc is planning to have 50 obstacles, which they can swap every few month:

 

Until now CWC investedver 1 million euro in the whole CWC project. And now the are going to invest an other million. After 3-4 years the wanna get the money back in. Now they employ 200 people, and for the worlds they got an other 200. There are 150 accomodations built an an other 150 will follow!

It was pretty interresting to have chat with pro boat riders. They like rippin the cable to, and were optimistic for the cabel future. Oil ist getting more expensive, and cabels are starting to pop out like mushrooms. 

I meet Rhaul form India, he found a cabel wakeboard federation and is planning to built the first 3 cabels there. So everwhere is going something on....

 

Overall the worlds was an really impressiv event, ever night there was a big fireworks, parties, djs, shows, livebands, catering, etc... the also put up super fast internet and webstream the whole competition live at www.cwcwake.com 

 

To all other austrians, there are so many categories where many of you would have chances for top placements, and than you got all this entertainment. So maybe next year I am not defend the country alone, and we make party together.

Hallo Leute! 

Erster Zwischenbericht aus den Philippinen!

 

Die Anreise war hart, hab am Freitag um 7 Uhr morgens Fetzysworld verlassen. Danke hier nochmal an den Roger aus der Schweiz der mich auf dem Nachhauseweg um 10 Uhr am Münchner Flughafen abgeliefert hat. Um 12.10 Uhr den Flieger nach Doha geschnappt, acht Stunden später angekommen, dort schönes WLAN gehabt und noch mit drei anderen Deutschen (Familie Lärchenfeld) die auch auf dem Weg zur WM waren, schön Office gemacht. Die sechs Stunden Wartezeit sind relativ schnell vergangen, dann nochmal 10 Stunden fliegen bis Manila. Dort kurz etwas Shopping, Coffee bei Starbucks und 5 Stunden später in den Bus ab nach Naga. Es war das letzte mal, dass ich die 8 Stunden Busfahrt gemacht habe, das letzte mal bin ich von Naga retour gefahren, war sau müde und schlafen war kein Problem, aber nach dem Jetlag vom Flug und bei den holprigen Straßen, bracht ich vielleicht zwei Stunden die Augen zu. Von der Bushaltestelle gings dann mit dem Trycyle weiter ins CWC, es regnete. Die lang ersehnte Dusche, ab ins Bett und es war 6 Uhr morgens. Gesamte Anreisezeit: 41 Stunden! 

 

5 Uhr morgens an der Bushaltestelle in Naga, das Boardbag ist bereits am Trycyle (Beiwagen Motorad) und die Jungs freuen sich über etwas geschäft und einem netten Foto!

 

5 Stunden später wieder aufgestanden, Regen wird weniger.  Es gab viele Leute zu begrüßen,  Australien ist mit ca. 30 Leuten vertreten, Südafrika mit mind. 20, viele Amis, aber auch Leute aus Thailand, UK, Norwegen, Frankreich, etc... das ganze Who is Who der Wakeboardszene.  Meine Wenigkeit war zu erschöpft um zu fahren, die Anfahrt hing mir noch in den Knochen. Ich bewunderte die anderen Fahrer und sah mit den neuen ca 800 Meter langen boatlake sowie den halb fertigen Winchpark an. Ein komplett neues Winchsystem wird vorgestellt. Es ist fast wie ein kleiner Lift mit nur zwei Stützen, bei dem man immer hin und her fährt, es gehen sogar inverts! Am Abend gabs dann noch eine Hochzeit direkt am Lift, Scotty Green, den man aus dem Statement WB Video kennen sollte, traute sich mit einer nicht weniger hübschen jungen Australierin. Es wurde anscheinend noch schwer gefeiert, für mich ging der Abend nach einer Massage jedoch schon um 10.00 Uhr zu Ende!

 

Der Timetable ist nicht zum übersehen, auch wenn er nicht eingehalten wurde, gabs immer volle Programm!

 

Dafür ging es heute (30.6.08) schon bald los, der blaue Himmel und die Sonne ließen mich um 6 Uhr morgens schon strahlen und um 7 Uhr hing im schon im Cabel um zu trainieren. Zwei Stunden später verging mir das Strahlen aber wieder. Wollte am liebsten gleich wieder Nachhause fahren.  Denn mein Riding war echt scheiße, ich kam mit dem Lift und den Bedingungen nicht klar. Das Wasser war viel zu heiß, die Hände so aufgeweicht... hab schon überlegt ob ich in der Kategorie Men Amateur starte anstatt in Pro Men!

 

Dann mal lieber nach Naga rein, Basketball-Shirts machen lassen. Um zwei Uhr wieder am Lift, nochmal aufs Wasser und siehe da, es funktionierte gar nicht so schlecht, und die dritte Session um fünf war sogar echt der Hammer und machte voll Spaß. So und nun totmüde, Schlafenszeit, morgen noch letztes Training, danach geht’s 6 Stunden unter die Nadel, die schönen Dreadlocks werden repariert...autsch! 

 

Die Sitzung dauerte doch nur 5 Stunden, langweilig wurd mich auch nicht, sah mir gemütlich die anderen Qualies an. 

 

 

Opening Ceremony, jedes Land fuhr eine Runde mit seiner Landesflagge!
